It has taken 60 years to build our present public image. We were founded in 1940 by Russell Boose and located on Market Street (now the MAR-Chele Pretzel building) here in Brookville, Ohio. The company was founded on the principle that the public is entitled to the best service possible to satisfy its transportation needs. In that first year of business eight cars were sold and there were only two employees (Russell and his daughter Velma). From 1940 thru 1954 Russell Boose was the only new and used car salesman.
In 1949, Mr Boose’s son-in-law, Chester Bloom joined the company as the company’s accountant/clerk.
As the years went by our sales of new and used cars increased to a point that a new and larger facility was needed. In 1954 a new building was erected on Sycamore Street. and eight employees shared in the growth of our company.
Ten years later in 1964, Mr Boose saw and noted that a new location again was necessary in order to serve the transportation needs of the late 1960s and 1970s. By the spring of 1966 our present building was built to support the business volume in selling and servicing Chevrolet products. In the fall of 1970 a new and larger Body Shop was built to meet the demands of increased sales. Then in 1972 a new truck lot was added to the north of the main facility to bring us to our present size.
In 1982 the reins of the dealership were handed over to Chester Bloom, who continues the traditions and philosophies that the company was founded on. As of January 2000, we had grown to thirty-five full time employees and new vehicle sales exceeded 650 units
In 1994 Chester’s son Bruce joined the company to continue the family tradition.
In 2002 Boose Chevrolet Co was presented with the Mark of Excellence Chevrolet Genuine Leaders award for both our sales and service customer satisfaction.
Our founder, Russell Boose, envisioned the dynamic growth and progress experienced by our community, and his ethical business practices and sense of community leadership worked hand-in-hand in building the success and progress we now enjoy.
Our community is still growing, and we want to make sure that our business is operated on the principles that will keep pace with the needs and expectations of our customers. The greatest assets to ensure future growth and progress are our customers and our employees. Our Company philosophy is the age-old Golden Rule, and we will strive in the conduct of our daily work to live by this philosophy in human relations.
